MASTER Rudransh, just 6 months old and weighing around 4.3 kg, is currently admitted in the NICU and requires continuous medical care and ventilator support. According to the medical note, he is battling multiple serious health complications, including Down Syndrome, congenital hypothyroidism, congenital heart disease with a significant PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus), severe pneumonia, bronchospasm and Vitamin B12 deficiency.

At present, Rudransh is being supported on a ventilator. His doctors have advised urgent closure of the PDA, as it has been identified as hemodynamically significant.

Rudransh Needs Urgent PDA Closure

A PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus) is an abnormal opening between major blood vessels connected to the heart. In Rudransh's case, the PDA is significant and requires closure as advised by the cardiology/CTVS team.

The medical team has indicated that the PDA may need to be closed through one of the following procedures:

• PDA ligation / open-heart surgical closure, or
• PDA device closure

The exact procedure will be decided by the pediatric cardiology/CTVS team based on Rudransh's condition and medical suitability.
